Registration and Fees

You can register online through our official website. Just follow the registration link and fill out the required information.

The registration deadline is on 15 February 2025 at 6pm. Early registration is encouraged as spots are limited.

Yes, you can transfer your registration to another participant up to two weeks before the marathon. Please contact our support team for assistance.

No, there’s no limit to the number of the participants.

The entry fee includes a race bib, timing chip, food & drinks, a finisher’s medal, and access to aid stations near the start finish. Detailed pricing is available on the registration page.

Race Logistics

The marathon (42km) starts at 10:00 AM and the 21, 10, 5 km starts at 11:00 AM. Participants are advised to arrive at least one hour early for check-in and warm-up.

30-60 minutes before your start time, you can pick up your bib number from the large tipi tent on the ice at the Southern Harbour. For timing we work together with Racetimer which uses RFID technology. This technology identifies the competitors via a disposable chip integrated with the bib number.

No there’s no official pre-race briefing. All information will be shared when pick up your bib number from the large tipi tent on the ice at the Southern Harbour.

Course Details

Yes, a detailed course map is available on our website under the ‘Sea-Ice marathon‘ section.

Water and aid stations are placed at the start/finish of the event. This water station near start/finish is equipped with water, energy drinks, and food.

The Sea-Ice Marathon is completely flat, but without good footwear the icy surface can be challenging. Proper footwear with spikes build in spikes is recommended.

Yes, the course is certified and has been accurately measured to ensure it meets international marathon standards.

Transportation and Parking

Limited (paid) parking is available at the designated parking area near the start/finish line. We suggest to park on the areas nearby and walk to the southern harbor.

No, currently there are no shuttle services available from key locations in Luleå to the start of the marathon. If you stay in the city centre of Luleå the southern harbor is on walking distance.

Luleå has a well-connected public transportation system. Buses and taxis are convenient options. Please plan your trip in advance.

Safety and Medical Support

The medical tent is located at the start/finish line. A mobile medical team will also be patrolling the course.

The medical station is located at the start/finish of the course.

If you need medical assistance, go to the start/finish or alert a course marshal or volunteer.

Amenities and Services

The aid station will provide water, energy drinks, and light snacks such as bananas and energy bars.

Yes, portable restrooms are available at the start/finish.

Yes, professional photographers will be stationed along the course and at the finish line. Photos will be available after the event.

The finish line area includes restrooms, a medical cabin, refreshments, and a large tipi tent to get you warmed up after running.

No, there’s no official baggage drop service available near the start line. Bags can be left (for own risk) in the big tipi tents near the start/finish.
